lululemon is teaming up with Run Melbourne, one of Australia’s most iconic winter sporting festivals in an Australian-first partnership for the event’s 10th year.
As the presenting partner for this weekend’s 2017 and future 2018 events, lululemon’s support celebrates and elevates the event and the run community in Australia in a number of ways. Education sessions and training runs leading up to the half marathon, 10km and 5km runs have been led by lululemon elite ambassadors including ultra-marathon runner and social entrepreneur, Samantha Gash, and running technique coach, Paul MacKinnon. lululemon is also hosting three high intensity pre-race warm-ups alongside Run Melbourne lululemon Ambassador Michael Ramsey’s The Functional Group
In addition, lululemon is opening the largest pop-up store in the southern hemisphere where its technical athletic apparel will be available for purchase to the event’s 20,000 participants and passersby. The Showcase Store, located on Birrarung Marr Federation Square, features limited edition Run Melbourne presented by lululemon gear. The products include a select number of men’s and women’s technical styles in different prints, including the iconic Melbourne city skyline.
Trading alongside the Showcase Store on Sunday July 30, lululemon’s brunch village features coffee from the iconic ST.Ali, sweet and savoury pastries from Banks Vegan Bakery, and smoothies and smoothie bowls from plant-based local-legend Matcha Mylbar.
In addition, lululemon is also supporting along the race route with each Melbourne-based store bringing their unique community and culture to different cheer stations. Expect to see surf life savers, firefighters, hip-hop dancers, spin bikes, and more.
lululemon currently operates 30 stores in seven states across Australia, including 10 in Melbourne.
Since its inception, Run Melbourne has hosted over 175,000 runners and raised $12 million in funds for 400 charities.
