Because we don’t own our manufacturing facilities, we take great care in selecting our vendors through a screening process that helps identify vendors that share our company values and screen out any that don’t.
A responsible supply chain starts with us and the decisions we make. We source our products and fabrics from 22 countries around the world, including Canada and the U.S.A. In 2014, we had 70 active cut-and-sew facilities, and all of these facilities were assessed before production began that year.
Our Vendor Code of Ethics outlines what we stand for when it comes to manufacturing. We partner with our vendors to uphold legal, humane, and ethical standards of production, while caring for the environment. To maintain our standards, we assess potential partners before engaging in a business partnership, and work with them on an ongoing basis through regular follow ups.
We keep things in check by assessing our partners’ facilities before going into production together, and regularly thereafter. We use our own team of in-house experts, commission third parties (when we need support), and show up both announced and unannounced.
Raw materials are the foundation of our products and one of the biggest ways that we, as a company, can minimize our impact. We do our research when sourcing down, wool, cotton, and other raw materials.
