Our vision is to create a more accessible event, so we have reduced the price of the event to US $5.00 per distance. All funds raised will be distributed through lululemon’s social impact program, Here to Be, and evenly contributed to the following non-profit organizations: Back on My Feet, Black Men Run, and Girls on the Run.
No. It's just one step we're taking to minimize our impact on the planet. We're always looking for ways to improve the environmental footprint of our events. The environmental impacts of packaging and shipping medals to virtual participants are greater than when we provide medals for in-person events. For this reason, we will not be offering medals to participants of the SeaWheeze 2021 Virtual Half Marathon and 10K.
We are offering exclusive SeaWheeze 2021 product to guests around the world. Product will be available online to all guests at the same time, and SeaWheeze 2021 Virtual registrants will receive an email notification when the product is live on lululemon.com. More details coming soon.
Yes. To participate in the SeaWheeze 2021 Virtual Half Marathon and 10K and be eligible for the reward, you’ll need to track your run on the Strava app. But good news: Strava accounts are free to create and available through either Google Play or the Apple store. Once you’re on Strava, make sure to join the lululemon SeaWheeze Run Club here.
You’re welcome to take water/food/chat breaks, so long as you continue to track your run via the Strava app. Remember you need to track your activity in a singular effort.
Manual entries, virtual runs, treadmill runs, GPS runs, GPS walks, and GPS wheelchair activities will count towards the SeaWheeze 2021 Virtual Half Marathon and 10K. All activities logged during the challenge window must be uploaded to Strava no later than three days after the SeaWheeze 2021 Virtual Half Marathon and 10K event is over.
Here to Be is lululemon’s social impact program. Together with their partners, Here to Be disrupts inequity through movement, mindfulness, and advocacy. To date, Here to Be has granted US $18 million and partnered with over 650 organizations to support more than one million people across the globe, helping them connect to wellness.
As a part of this year’s SeaWheeze, we’re excited to amplify three organizations making positive change in their communities: Back on My Feet, Black Men Run, and Girls on the Run. 100% of the registration fee (US $5.00) will be distributed evenly across these organizations to support their work.
In the interest of making SeaWheeze more accessible, we’ve lowered the price point, and dedicated 100% of those funds to supporting non-profit organizations that address barriers to running. As a virtual event, SeaWheeze allows participation around the world, including the ability to track runs via Strava by manual upload as well as wheelchair activities and treadmill runs. Whether you run, roll or walk, you can be a part of SeaWheeze.
The SeaWheeze Virtual Half Marathon training program is 10 weeks long. It begins on July 12. Due to the 10-week structure, it is recommended that individuals be able to comfortably and continuously run 5km (3 miles) or 30 minutes before starting the half marathon training program.
The SeaWheeze Virtual 10K training program is eight weeks long. It begins on July 26. Both programs take you right to the start of the SeaWheeze 2021 Virtual Half Marathon and 10K beginning September 18.
These programs will have you getting sweaty up to six days a week at different levels of intensity. We’ve built in lots of yoga and active recovery, so you can mix up your workouts and take it easy on the days you feel like you need to.
The lululemon SeaWheeze Virtual Half Marathon and 10K training programs were developed by lululemon Ambassador Rob Watson. Before starting the Half Marathon training program, you should be able to run 5km, 3 miles, or 30 minutes continuously and comfortably. If training for the 10K, you should be able to comfortably run for 20 minutes. Walk/running works, too—just make sure to follow the distances and times we recommend and walk/run at whatever intervals you're comfortable with.
The lululemon SeaWheeze Run Club found on Strava lets you track training runs, celebrate progress, cheer on fellow runners, and get training updates—all in one spot. Join the club here.
We want to create a truly inclusive experience and bring the magic of SeaWheeze to everyone. Opening SeaWheeze gear up to all guests allows everyone—runners and non-runners alike—to be part of the celebration.
